In my last blog piece on my adventure to Paris – the finally realised dream – I wanted to show you all a few more photos of the streets where I spent my time and of the buildings that make up the wonderful city. I will be timing future trips to coincide with Paris in the springtime, however. All these areas are so much more beautiful during the spring and summer months.
Fountain in the first arrondisement - close to Tuileries
The famous steep streets and staircases of Montmartre leading down into the Pigalle area
Across the pond at the Jardin du Luxembourg
Statue of a fawn at the Jardin du Luxembourg
Teenagers playing le foot outside the Jardin du Luxembourg
The canal area near Republique
Pont neuf near Pompidou centre
Musee de Quai Branly
Les Deux Magots cafe on Boulevard Saint Germain
The national assembly in the seventh arrondisement
Buttes Chaumont park
The view of the Eiffel Tower and the Pont Alexandre III bridge from the right bank I have also included a link to a perfume advertisement that captures so well that Paris magic every girl goes looking for there. I know I saw a little bit of it. Paris is remarkable, mysterious, enchanting and unforgettable. I know the city now and parts of it can be called my own. I will surely go back. However, as I fit myself snugly back into the Auckland city jigsaw puzzle, I can confidently claim that I am home. And it is lovely to be back. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0oWGD5yYS9g&feature=related Merci, au revoir et bon courage tout le monde! Gros bisous! |
